This street is so lovely! Shady with lots of surprises down side streets. It’s pretty touristy these days, but with the help of a trusty Rick Steves self-guided tour, still a wonderful way to spend a morning.

No, we didn’t have any issues with pickpockets. We wore crossbody purses and kept our hands on them in crowds. I also use a Loopy case for my phone, and it feels very secure in my hand with my middle finger always looped through it – yes, someone could attempt to grab it, but they’d have to break my finger. The girls had their phones on lanyard tethers. We used this one, but I think this one looks interesting too, and possibly more sturdy.
