When we think of the Titanic, we often think of the tragic loss of life that occurred when the ship struck an iceberg and sank in 1912. But, among the many victims of the disaster, there were a few lucky survivors – one of them being Violet Jessop.

Violet Jessop was a nurse and stewardess who was working aboard the Titanic when it set sail on its fateful voyage. Despite being ordered to board a lifeboat, Violet chose to stay on the ship and help other passengers. She ended up being one of the 705 survivors of the disaster.

But, Violet’s brush with death didn’t end there. A few years later, she was working on another ship called Britannic when it too hit an iceberg and began to sink. Violet was again ordered to board a lifeboat, but once again chose to stay on the ship and help others. She was eventually rescued, but the Britannic sank, taking with it 30 lives.

Violet’s luck didn’t run out there, later on she was working on a third ship, the RMS Olympic, when it collided with a British warship. The incident caused significant damage to the ship, but it managed to stay afloat and Violet survived again.

Violet’s story is truly remarkable, and it’s hard to believe that anyone could survive not one, but two shipwrecks. Her courage and selflessness in the face of danger is an inspiration to us all.

Her nickname was “Miss Unsinkable” and indeed she was, she not only survived the Titanic, Britannic and the RMS Olympic, but she also went on to work on other ships and lived a long life, passing away in 1971.

Violet’s story is a testament to the human spirit and the resilience of the human soul. Next time you hear the story of the Titanic, remember Violet Jessop and her incredible story of survival against all odds.
